Install your full wall mural panels
Installing a custom wall mural is an excellent, damage-free way to transform any space. By using the professional “hinge method,” you can ensure precise, bubble-free alignment even if you are working alone.
What's built into your panels
1" overlap between panels: Each panel includes a 1" overlap with its neighbor to allow for slight shrinkage over time, so seams stay tight and no gaps appear.
0.5"–1" extra at top and bottom: Panels run slightly long to accommodate wall imperfections such as low spots in the ceiling and high spots in the floor. Trim the excess after hanging.

Step 1
Prep the surface
Clean, dry walls are the key to a strong, lasting bond.
- 1.
Clean the wall: Wipe down the target area using rubbing alcohol or mild soap and water to remove hidden dust, oil, and grease. Do not use household glass cleaners, as they leave behind a slick residue that prevents adhesive bonding.
- 2.
Let it dry completely: Ensure the wall is 100% dry before you begin.
Recently painted? Wait at least 2 to 3 weeks before installing. Escaping paint gasses will cause bubbles under the vinyl.

Step 2
Prep each panel
Lay out your panels in order before anything touches the wall.
- 1.
Lay each panel face down on a hard, flat surface like a floor or table, in the order it will hang.
- 2.
Rub your squeegee or credit card firmly across the back paper. This keeps the vinyl flat and evenly bonded so the backing releases cleanly when you peel it later.

Step 3
Map out and level your position
Measure twice, stick once. The first panel sets the line for the whole wall.
- 1.
Without peeling off any backing yet, position the first panel against the wall.
- 2.
Use a level and a tape measure to ensure it sits perfectly straight (plumb).
- 3.
Once satisfied, place a few temporary pieces of painter's tape on the top corners to hold it to the wall. Step back across the room to visually double-check the placement.

Step 4
The hinge method
The professional technique for precise, bubble-free alignment, even if you are working alone.
- 1.
Create the hinge: Place a long strip of painter's tape vertically straight down the exact center of the panel, overlapping onto the wall at both the top and bottom.
- 2.
Peel back the first half: Gently peel the top corners of the panel away from the wall on the left side only, pulling the paper toward the center tape hinge.
- 3.
Cut the backing paper: Use scissors or a knife to cut away the exposed backing paper right up to the tape hinge line. Be careful not to score or damage the wall.
- 4.
Squeegee it down: Hold the exposed left side taut (but don't stretch it). Starting from the center hinge line, slowly squeegee the vinyl onto the wall moving outward toward the left edge. Work in smooth, overlapping strokes to push air bubbles toward the perimeter.
- 5.
Repeat on the other side: Remove the vertical center tape hinge. Lift the right side of the panel, peel off the remaining backing paper, discard it, and squeegee the right half onto the wall from the center outward.

Step 5
Hang the next panels
Work panel by panel across the wall so the image lines up seamlessly.
- 1.
Hold the next panel against the wall so it overlaps the panel you just hung by 1", lining up the image so the artwork matches across the seam.
- 2.
Tape the top corners in place, step back to check the alignment, then apply it using the same hinge method.
- 3.
Repeat until every panel is on the wall.

Step 6
Secure and finish
Lock everything down flush to the surface.
- 1.
Run your squeegee firmly over the entire mural one final time, paying close attention to seams, edges, and corners.
- 2.
Trim the extra 0.5"–1" at the ceiling and baseboards, plus any excess around outlets, with a sharp utility knife.
- 3.
Use a clean finger or a soft cloth to gently trace the edges and seams to guarantee everything is locked down flush to the wall.
If an edge lifts, press it back down firmly with your squeegee, wait a minute, and check again.
